A Deans Ragbook Ivy and baby Brumas This is Ivy and Brumas polar bears at London Zoo. Brumas was born 27 November 1949 and Ivy was her mother. They were made 1949-55. The mother is 17" tall and both have their labels. They are attached to each other and never been separated. Ivy has a repair and is a bit floppy from years of carrying her baby. Brumas was the first baby polar bear to be successfully reared in Britain and was an immediate attraction with the public. She caused such interest that, in 1950, the Zoo's annual attendance figures reached the 3 million mark.
